The Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJ) provides students with critical work experience to help them prepare for their professional futures. It aims to strengthen the middle class, keep the economy strong and familiarize students with job market realities. As such, the success of this program is extremely important for the continued prosperity of communities across the country.
In Brampton East alone, 92 employment opportunities were created through the Canada Summer Jobs Program in 2016. However, in order to provide greater opportunities for youth this season, the Government of Canada has decided to extend the CSJ employer application deadline to February 3, 2017. All not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with up to 50 employees will thereby have an additional two-weeks to apply for government funding.
