Member of Parliament for Brampton East
Raj Grewal J.D MBA, (born on September 11, 1985) is the Member of Parliament for Brampton East.
Raj has called Brampton East his home for the last 25 years. He brings a solid business and legal background to the House of Commons. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Raj was called to the Ontario bar in June 2014 after completing his J.D at Osgoode Hall Law School and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Prior to being elected to Parliament, Raj practiced law at a prominent Bay street firm, where he specialized in public and private mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities. Before entering the legal profession, Raj was a financial analyst for a fortune 500 company.
Raj currently sits on the Standing Committees for Finance and Government Operations. In Brampton East, he co-hosts a weekly drop in basketball session focused on providing mentorship through sport. In addition, he dedicates his time to the Guru Gobind Singh Children’s Foundation and participates in the mentorship programs at both Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business.
Raj is committed to bringing a progressive voice to Ottawa, focusing on issues such as immigration and democratic reform, along with being a strong advocate for issues affecting our youth.
